GRÉGORY QUENET
Grégory Quenet, a modern historian and agrégé1 in history, is a pioneer of environmental history in France. As the first professor of environmental history at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines since 2012, he also established the first courses in this field at Sciences Po Paris in 2009. As the founder of the French portal for environmental humanities, he organized the Eighth Congress of the European Society for Environmental History in 2015.
His interdisciplinary approach led him to collaborate with seismologists for his thesis on nuclear power plants. He has served as a member of the French Committee for World Heritage and as an expert for the Taputapuatea marae, which was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site at its first application.
At the University of Paris Saclay, he immersed himself in the work of climatologists and ecologists. As an auditor of the thirteenth promotion of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Business (IHEE), he also collaborates with artists, including Laurent Grasso, as a scientific advisor. His career is characterized by original reference works that bridge the social sciences and natural sciences, combining the past, present, and future.
